Ingredient suppliers test grades, not just finished products
Illustrative scenario: a cosmetics ingredient supplier changes a preservative system in an emollient blend. Stability and compatibility studies run at several conditions, and three customers are waiting on updated data. The study needs to stay tied to the exact grade version, and the result needs to reach the specification and the customer documents.
For chemical suppliers, the same discipline applies to shelf-life and retest claims on a product or intermediate. Keep the method, conditions, results and approved retest period together, so the lot record and the CoA agree.
