NPD is where the launch date meets the regulatory calendar
New product development software is usually bought as a project tracker: gates, owners, dates, a dashboard for the leadership meeting. That solves the visibility problem and leaves the actual problem untouched. Launches slip because a claim couldn't be substantiated, a market needed a notification nobody scheduled, or a raw material turned out to be restricted where the product was going.
None of that is visible to a tracker that doesn't hold the formula. The useful version of NPD software knows what's in the product and what each target market will demand of it, so the constraint appears at brief stage rather than at pack sign-off.
