What has changed about chemicals AI in 2026
Chemicals has spent the last decade buying regulatory content (Verisk 3E, Sphera, Enhesa), SDS authoring (Sphera, ChemAdvisor, Wercs) and process optimisation (AspenTech) as separate categories. Useful, but each one was a silo with a subscription and a login.
The change in 2026 is that a new category of chemicals platform holds substance, regulation, SDS and operations on one data model, and lets AI agents work across all of it: drafting the SDS, filing the PCN, monitoring REACH and SVHC, updating the customer declaration, flagging the classification risk before it ships. It is a materially different shape of product to a copilot bolted onto one silo.
