Worldover, AI operating system for substance-based businesses

    Compare

Worldover vs Infor, for cosmetic and chemical companies.

Infor covers chemical and cosmetic work through separate products: Infor PLM for Process (formerly Optiva) for R&D and formulation, CloudSuite Process Manufacturing (M3) or CloudSuite Chemicals for manufacturing, and regulatory and specification capability inside its PLM. Each part is capable on its own. What you buy alongside them is the integration, and the people who keep it current. Worldover is the AI operating system for chemicals and cosmetics companies, where R&D, manufacturing and regulatory work share one record and Willow helps prepare and run the work. Here's how they compare, tool by tool.

    Quick answer

For R&D, Infor PLM for Process is an established formulation tool for process industries; Worldover holds formulas, INCI and substance data on the same record production and regulatory use, so a change shows up everywhere at once. For manufacturing, Infor's CloudSuite products bring mature process ERP and plant scope; Worldover runs MRP, campaign planning, batch records and lot traceability alongside quality, in one place rather than across ERP, MES and EAM. For regulatory, Worldover covers REACH, CLP, GHS, TSCA, PCN, SDS authoring, EU 1223/2009 and MoCRA natively, while much of Infor's document and regulatory content arrives through partners. With Infor, these are linked products you integrate; with Worldover, they're one system.

R&D: Infor PLM for Process vs Worldover

Infor PLM for Process, long known as Optiva, is a respected formulation and specification tool, especially in food, chemicals and other process industries. It handles recipes, specifications and ingredient calculations well, and it's a sensible pick if you're already standardised on Infor.

Worldover keeps the formula on the same record as stock, cost, regulatory status and production. Chemists see which raw materials are in stock, what they cost from your supplier list and whether a change breaks a regulatory limit, before the trial batch, not after.

The difference is where the work lands. With Infor, pushing a formula change through to production and regulatory documents is an integration someone has to design and look after. With Worldover it's already one record, so there's nothing to push.

    Manufacturing: CloudSuite vs Worldover

Infor's CloudSuite Process Manufacturing and Chemicals editions are mature process ERPs, with planning, scheduling, inventory and plant operations, plus MES and EAM as further products. For large, asset-heavy, multi-site manufacturers, that breadth is a real strength.

Worldover's MRP plans production and campaigns using the same formula, stock and regulatory data the rest of the business uses. Batch records, charge weights, yields, lot history and QC release sit together, so planners, production and quality work from one view rather than reconciling systems.

Most cosmetics and chemical makers don't need Infor's full plant estate, and they'd pay for it in licences and project time anyway. Worldover's manufacturing scope is deliberately narrower, then connects to the finance or maintenance system you already run.

    Regulatory: Infor vs Worldover

Infor's regulatory capability mostly sits inside PLM for Process, checking formulas against rules and producing specifications. Ask which regulatory lists, SDS authoring and label content are native, which come from partners, and who keeps them current. That last question is usually the whole answer: compliance only holds while someone maintains the data behind it, and when a partner module does it, that someone isn't you.

Worldover treats regulation as live data. REACH, CLP, GHS, TSCA, PCN, EU 1223/2009 and MoCRA requirements are checked against your actual formulas, SDSs are authored natively, and Willow flags which products and documents a regulatory change affects.

    How to choose between them

If you run a large, multi-site plant estate and already use Infor, its PLM and CloudSuite products deserve a close look. That's a narrow group of companies. For most cosmetics and chemical businesses the pain isn't plant breadth, it's the handover between R&D, regulatory, quality and production, and that's the gap Worldover was built to close.

In a demonstration, use one real product. Change a raw material and ask each vendor to show what happens to the formula, the classification, the SDS, the open production orders and the customer documents. Then watch whether the answer comes from one record or from a mapping someone had to build.

One record, or three products that have to agree

Infor is a serious suite, and for an asset-heavy, multi-site operator we'd expect it to win. For a cosmetics or chemical business whose bottleneck is the handover between R&D, regulatory, quality and production, Worldover removes the handover instead of managing it more neatly. See chemical ERP software for the substance-first detail, or customer stories for what the same record looks like day to day.
