Automating supplier data collection for a global ingredients distributor.

Presperse deployed Worldover's PLM module as the structured home for every distributed ingredient, with agentic supplier data collection pulling current technical and regulatory information into the record.

A distributor whose value is its data

Presperse Corporation is a global ingredient distributor, supplying actives and functional ingredients from a portfolio of upstream suppliers to formulators and manufacturers across the cosmetics and personal care industry.

As a distributor, Presperse does not own the substances themselves, its value lies in the relationships, the logistics, and crucially the technical and regulatory data customers depend on to formulate, document and ship. The quality, breadth and currency of that data is what makes the distributorship work.

Hours of manual data collection, repeated across a portfolio

The operational reality of an ingredients distributor is that supplier data is structured the way each supplier wants to structure it. Technical data sheets vary in format. Regulatory documentation arrives by email, in different templates, on different cadences. Composition data, jurisdictional positioning and supporting regulatory documents all have to be collected, normalised and made available to the customer base.

The Presperse team spent hours each week collecting data from upstream suppliers, reformatting it, and republishing it for downstream customers. Every new supplier and every new customer market multiplied the effort. The work was indispensable, and it did not scale.

PLM as the structured home, with agents doing the collection

Presperse deployed Worldover's PLM module as the structured home for every ingredient in the distributed portfolio. Willow, Worldover's chemical intelligence engine, underpins how those ingredients are represented, naming conventions and synonyms, composition, and regulatory classification.

On top of that foundation, Worldover's AI orchestration layer runs agentic supplier data collection: enterprise-safe agents that pull current technical and regulatory information from upstream sources directly into the structured PLM record. Because the platform is composable, the configuration was built around the distributor workflow Presperse actually runs, not a generic ingredient-provider template.

Delivered by Customer Success and Engineering, with Regulatory input

Composition and configuration were led by Worldover's Customer Success team, working closely with Presperse's regulatory leadership. Engineering contributed the agentic data collection workflows, configured to the supplier mix Presperse distributes for. Worldover's Regulatory team supported the jurisdictional logic on the screening side.

Outcomes: a distributor that scales without proportional headcount

Presperse's supplier data now flows into structured PLM records rather than being assembled by hand. The immediate outcome is operational: hours of manual collection work removed from the team's week.

The strategic outcome is leverage. Presperse can grow the distributed portfolio and the customer base without growing the data operations team in proportion, every new supplier added and every new market opened arrives onto a system already configured to keep the data current.

"The platform streamlined regulatory compliance processes by centralizing requirements and documentation in one place. It enabled easier tracking of ingredient statuses against global regulations. At the same time, it brought structure and transparency to supplier data by consolidating documents into an organized, easily accessible system. This enhanced data accuracy, eliminated data gaps, and made it faster for teams to access information when evaluating materials or responding to customer inquiries."
