    South Korea Updates Cosmetic Regulation

    On 25th March 2026, the KCA (Korea Cosmetics Association) published a notice of amendment to the "Regulations on Cosmetic Safety Standards, etc.". A new permitted UV Filter, Phenylene Bis-Diphenyltriazine, is added, hair dye ingredients are reorganised for clarity, and some test methods are updated.

    Australia's TGA Consults on Sunscreen Regulation

    On 26th March 2026, Australia's TGA (Therapeutic Goods Administration) launched a consultation to improve the regulation of therapeutic sunscreens. The consultation will run till 23rd May 2026 and the associated consultation paper proposes options to improve the current regulatory framework.

    ECHA Supports PFAS Restriction with Targeted Derogations

    On 26th March 2026, ECHA published a press release reporting that the RAC (Risk Assessment Committee) and the SEAC (Socio-Economic Analysis Committee both support an EU-wide restriction on PFAS subject to derogations, in their final and draft Opinions, respectively. The public consultation period on SEAC's draft opinion is now underway, with adoption expected by the end of 2026. Subsequently, both the RAC and SEAC Final Opinions will be submitted to the European Commission, which will propose a restriction for discussion and vote in the REACH Committee.
