Why a separate LIMS is a problem in cosmetics
A standalone LIMS was designed for laboratories that operate independently of the rest of the business. In a cosmetic operation, lab results are not independent, they are what allow the batch to be released, the CoA to be issued, the stability claim to be made and the PIF to be signed off. When the LIMS is a separate system, that flow requires exports, spreadsheets and rekeying.
The cost shows up as delayed batch release, CoAs that lag stability data by weeks, PIFs that quote outdated stability results and customer documentation requests that require the QC manager to log into three systems to answer.
