Why the current stack creates the problem

- The SVHC candidate list updates roughly twice a year, and each update means a manual review of which mixtures and customers are affected.
- EU REACH and UK REACH are now two regimes with duplicated cost, on top of TSCA and every other inventory you sell into.
- Poison centre notifications have to be resubmitted when composition moves beyond tolerance, and nothing tells you it has.

The change lands on the product record, and the compliance screen, the documentation and the packaging data are reassessed against it rather than staying on the old version.
Do we need to replace our finance system?
No. Most brands start with the product record and the launch work, then extend into stock and finance only if they hold their own inventory.

- Chemical brands need formulation control, supplier documentation management, classification and SDS authoring for every market they sell into, and a way to prove what's in each batch shipped. The common failure is holding composition in one place and regulatory documents in another, so labels and SDSs drift out of step with the product.
- Who is responsible for the safety data sheet when you outsource manufacturing?
- The company placing the product on the market under its own name is responsible for the safety data sheet, even when a toll manufacturer produces it. That means the brand needs the current composition and classification, not just the manufacturer's PDF.
- How do you manage REACH obligations as a downstream user?
- Downstream users must check that their use is covered by the supplier's registered exposure scenarios, pass Article 33 information down the chain for SVHCs above 0.1%, and react when a substance moves onto the candidate or authorisation list. This only works if substance-level data is linked to the products and customers affected.
